About Demetrius
My name is Demetrius Bowen, I am currently 27 and I am from Memphis, Tennessee but based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was introduced to the art world at a young age in school, but began my tattoo journey around the age of17. I started painting shoes as a first business in school, that is when I knew I could take my craft seriously. As a college student in my early environment, my upbringing into the industry was not the smoothest. I have been tattooing for 5 years professionally now with a 2-year apprenticeship initially, then I started attending tattoo conventions and took on multiple sources of information from other artists and seminars. I am still adventurous when it comes to my style of work. I am always trying to implement new techniques to achieve a sense of feel. I gravitate towards illustrative pop culture, neo-traditional, and fine-line black and gray. I have been awarded in multitudes of categories around the country. I have traveled nearly all 50 states, attending a plethora of tattoo conventions. No matter the size or complexity, I approach every piece as if it were my last. I try to connect with each client and make a friend for life because every time they look at their piece, they will think of me. I try to keep that thought positive in my people's lives.
