Policies
- Deposit Policy
- Deposits are nonrefundable. Cancellations will result in a forfeited deposit. Please ensure you can commit to your appointment time. We maintain a 100% on-time record and expect the same commitment from you. We look forward to working with you!
- Cover-Up Policy
- Not accepting cover-ups.
- Touch-Up Policy
- Austin Maples strives to ensure every tattoo is beautiful and perfect. However, please keep in mind that tattoos naturally age and become a part of your skin over time. Sun exposure can cause tattoos to lighten, and changes in the skin may occur. Touchups are only considered within one year of the appointment and will be provided if necessary (e.g., scar tissue or complete ink loss in a specific area). In the past 10 years, we've seen 0% need for touchups, as following proper aftercare instructions should prevent most issues.
- Flash Appointment Policy
- Flash appointments are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Space is limited, and we cannot accommodate reschedules. Please keep this in mind before purchasing an appointment. These appointments are for pre-drawn flash ONLY, tattooed in black and gray. No alterations. You will be able to pick from Austins flash book on the day of your appointment. If you'd like a preview of the available flash, subscribe to Austins premium content on Instagram. Dates are chosen after appointments are purchased.
FAQ
- Do you show drawings before the day of appointment?
- No, I do not share drawings prior to the appointment. This is because I value the importance of collaborating with my clients in person. Meeting face-to-face allows us to build a personal connection and make any necessary adjustments together, ensuring the design, placement, and overall strategy align perfectly with your vision. Rest assured, with 15 years of experience creating high-quality tattoos, the drawing process will be efficient. Typically, it takes anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the piece, whether it’s palm-sized or something larger. This collaborative approach ensures you walk away with a design that feels truly unique and thoughtfully crafted.
- How many sessions does a full back/front require?
- The number of sessions required to complete a full front or back tattoo varies and depends on several factors, including the number of design adjustments and how well the client sits during each appointment. On average, full front or back pieces, like those showcased on Austin Maples' social media, are typically completed within 4 to 6 sessions. Each session is a full six-hour day. While this timeframe is an average, working within my process ensures we can complete the piece within this range under usual circumstances.
- How many sessions does a full sleeve take?
- Determining the number of sessions for a full sleeve can be more complex than for a back piece. Unlike the relatively flat surface of a back, sleeves must account for individual muscle structure, arm size, and specific focal points. The layout of the design can vary significantly based on the size and placement of key elements, making each sleeve a unique puzzle tailored to the client's arm. On average, a full sleeve takes 4 to 6 sessions, similar to a full back piece. This is because the surface area of a sleeve is roughly 95% of that of a back tattoo, requiring a comparable number of sessions to complete. Each session is focused on creating a cohesive, custom-fit design that perfectly wraps around the arm.
- Does Austin do consultations?
- No, Austin does not offer pre-appointment consultations. With over 15 years of experience, he is confident that as long as clients have completed the booking process, reviewed his portfolio, and are familiar with the style of work he excels in, he can deliver a design they will both be proud of. During the appointment, there is ample time to connect, enjoy a beverage in the lobby, and collaborate to create a beautiful and unique piece. This approach ensures a seamless experience and a design that leaves clients forever happy.
- Can I wear numbing cream to my appointment?
- Yes.
- Is my Deposit refundable?
- No, deposits are non-refundable. Austin Maples' schedule is in high demand, and any time booked is reserved specifically for the client. Additionally, Austin and his team dedicate time to the booking process, preparing schedules, brainstorming creative ideas, and gathering imagery for each project. The deposit ensures both parties are committed to the appointment. In the event of a cancellation, the deposit is retained to compensate for the time spent scheduling, planning, and managing the appointment, as well as the effort required to fill the vacated time slot. However, your deposit will be applied toward the cost of your final appointment. On the day of your final session, the deposit amount will be deducted from the total price owed. We kindly ask that you consider this commitment carefully before booking. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to creating an amazing tattoo with you!
