About Izabella
Hello! My name is Izabella, also known as Cervidae Mae on Instagram. I am so happy to have you here! I am capable of many styles of tattooing, but I specialize in nature-inspired blackwork tattooing. My favorite subject matter is anything related to the wild ecosystems and creatures we share our world with. Animals, fungi, plants, bones; it is all right up my alley! I have a particular fascination with animal biology. My illustrative goal is to elicit human emotions from animal subjects. I take pride in my attention to detail and accuracy of anatomical form. 99% of my work is in black and gray. When I imagine a design, it seldom is in color. The general exception is American Traditional and small tattoos. Unfortunately, I have developed a chronic wrist injury (from tattooing) which tends to become irritated by the techniques needed to pack color into the skin. Not only is this decision a stylistic choice, but also a physical limitation. You can thank Fibromyalgia and hypermobility for this! Of course I am open to discussion, but if you are seeking a large scale color tattoo with lots of smooth blending, I am not the artist for you. I am happy to recommend artists! Please keep this in mind if you are considering working with me <3 Outside of tattooing, I attend NKU for pre-veterinary biology. I spend an exorbitant amount of time training and showing my dogs, rehabilitating wildlife during the summer, and being outside. I dedicate a large portion of my time and energy to animal rescue. Whether that be rehabbing our native wildlife, fostering dogs for our county shelter, or the boots-on-the-ground dirty work of pulling dogs from mills, I am very passionate and could go on for hours.
