About Hanz
Hi, I’m Hanz Zarate, owner and artist at 9 Rabbit Tattoo in East Dallas. I specialize in custom tattoos that combine strong design, craftsmanship, and personal meaning. Whether it’s a small piece or a full sleeve, my goal is to create artwork that fits the body, tells a story, and stands the test of time. FAQ
- What should I do before my tattoo appointment?
- Please arrive well-rested, hydrated, and having eaten a good meal. Do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the tattoo area. Feel free to bring headphones, snacks, and water for longer sessions. Arrive with clean skin and contact me beforehand if you’re feeling sick or need to reschedule.
- How should I care for my new tattoo?
- Follow the aftercare instructions I provide, keep your tattoo clean, avoid soaking it in water, and don’t pick or scratch it while it heals. Apply the recommended aftercare product as directed, avoid excessive sun exposure, and let your tattoo heal naturally. Proper aftercare is essential for the best long-term results.
- How much will my tattoo cost?
- Every tattoo is priced based on size, placement, detail, and the time required. My shop minimum is $100, and my hourly rate is $180. Half-day sessions (4 hours) are $700, full-day sessions (9 hours) are $1,400, and two-day consecutive sessions are $2,700. I’ll provide a quote during your consultation.
- Do I need a retainer to book?
- Yes. A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your appointment and is applied toward the final cost of your tattoo. This secures your scheduled time and covers the design work that begins before your appointment.

- Can I bring someone with me?
- You’re welcome to bring one guest if needed, but space may be limited depending on the appointment and studio schedule. To help maintain a comfortable, focused environment, I ask that guests be respectful of the workspace and avoid bringing children unless they have another adult to supervise them.
- Can I bring my child to my appointment?
- No. For safety reasons, children under 18 are not permitted at appointments. Tattoo studios contain sharp equipment, biohazard materials, and other potential hazards. Due to the size of the studio and the need to maintain a safe, distraction-free environment, we ask that you arrange childcare before your appointment. Thank you for understanding.
