Policies
- Deposit Policy
- All deposits are non-refundable unless appointment is canceled by the artist with no offer of rescheduling. Your deposit can be honored for one reschedule with proper notice to the artist (48 hours or more prior to your appointment). If you require more than one reschedule for your appointment you may lose your deposit (regardless of notice) and be asked to pay a second in order to reschedule your appointment.
- Cover-up policy
- Accepting cover-ups.
- Tipping Policy
- Tips are always appreciated but never expected. I set my own rates as an artist and ensure that I am paid appropriately for the service regardless of whether or not clients tip me. If you'd like to show non-monetary appreciation for our time together, showing up with a non-dairy coffee or tea, art/ceramics, jewelry/clothing items, plant cuttings, local gift cards, etc are particularly exciting. Any tip paid to the artist is final after you leave the studio. Please ensure you do your tip math correctly: you can not receive a full or partial refund of your tip once you leave the studio.
- Design Review Policy
- Final designs will not sent to the client before the day of the session. This is not flexible, it has unfortunately been proven necessary in order to avoid plagiarism. There is ample time built into the appointment for design review and necessary redrawing. That being said, excessive redrawing in the case of larger conceptual changes can be avoided by ensuring your initial inquiry is thorough. Rough sketches of the overall concept/layout can be sent in advance if requested by the client.
FAQ
- Unfamiliar with private studios?
- Private studios can be unfamiliar or even concerning to some clients who have only experienced traditional tattoo shop environments. Rest assured: despite my studio space being built on my property, it is a licensed tattoo facility with the state of Oregon and a completely separate building from my residence. It has to pass health inspection just like any other body art facility. Less commuting for me means I get to spend more time focusing on my craft and experience as a service provider.
- What is your policy on numbing cream?
- You are welcome to use numbing cream for your tattoo, but please give notice. Numbing agents can greatly affect your skin: its courteous to notify your artist before the appointment if intending to use it. Do not wait to apply the cream at our session, most brands take 1-2 hours to take affect and we will not have time to wait. Be cautious of what brand you buy. Many numbing agents contain unhealthy amounts of lidocaine and/or strange ingredients which can be dangerous.
- How is the parking near your studio?
- There is a driveway and ample street parking available surrounding my studio.
- Can I get one of your designs tattooed by a different artist?
- No
- Do you tattoo designs multiple times?
- Small - Medium sized flash can be done several times. Larger projects and customs will only be done once at respect to the client.
- Can I ask for modifications on a flash design?
- You are more than welcome to ask for small edits to be made to a flash design. It is courteous to ask in advance to the appointment date via email. I might not accept all modification requests, but it never hurts to ask.
- Can we break up the tattoo into multiple sessions?
- Yes! Im happy to break up a tattoo over the course of multiple small sessions as opposed to one long session. If you are booking a larger scale piece it is likely I will require you to come in for multiple sessions to ensure the best healed result.
- Will you tattoo a replica of a design I find online?
- I will not copy a design you find online. Even if you found it on Pinterest, that design was created by another artist somewhere and copying it would be plagiarism. If you’d like to send me designs you find online as inspiration for a different but similar design, I would be happy to draw you a custom within my style.
- Do you tattoo in color?
- I will occasionally take on color projects provided that they are in my style/technical capacity. I do not feel comfortable doing large full color tattoos.
- What forms of payment do you take?
- I have a very strong preference for cash payments only. If you are in a bind and can not get cash prior to the session I can accept card payments or Zelle, though you will be asked to cover processing fees.
- Will you re-work/touchup a tattoo I got from another artist?
- I am not interested in re-working another artist's work. I will make the occasional exception for a repeat client who has had a bad experience elsewhere and needs help- but that is out of gratitude for my repeat clients and not something Im willing to do for others.
