About Matt
Matt is an award-winning, world-traveling artist based in Los Alamitos, California. His focus is large-scale dark surrealism, and realism pieces, with a secondary focus on neotraditional tattoos. A story of redemption: Matt’s first experience as a tattoo artist came in the California prison system in 2011. Tattooing saved his life. It gave him a new purpose and direction. And today he strives to give as much back to the tattoo industry. To leave it better than he found it. Fun fact: Matt was one of the very first tattoo artists to reach over 1 million followers on TikTok in 2021.

FAQ
- What is the cost?
- Everyone wants to know “how much” a tattoo is going to cost. And while the total time a tattoo takes will depend on final design, placement, how well you (the client) sit through the pain, and how well you take care of your skin, I break down pricing into session rates. At this time, a full day session (approximately 8 hours of tattooing) is $2000. While I offer discounts for multi-day sessions (-$500 per added day). Full day sessions run from 11am-8pm, sometimes later depending on how you are feeling, and where we are in the tattoo process.
- Do you have a minimum?
- Yes. I have a half day (4 hour) minimum. Because no tattoo worth having takes less than 4 hours.
- What do you recommend for aftercare?
- For the first three days, I use Recovery Derm Shield (applied in studio). After that, I personally use and stand behind H2Ocean products (which I provide to all clients). Using products with the same formula during the healing process as are used during the tattoo process produces the best results in my experience.
- Can I bring a friend to my appointment?
- Yes. I want to make my clients as comfortable as possible. In the studio, I have my own private room with a couch, tv, snacks and drinks. With enough room for a friend or two. However, I take your session very seriously, and will be focused on putting in work on your tattoo. And an all day session could be a little boring for someone simply spectating.
- What forms of payment are accepted?
- Cash is always accepted. However, I also accept Zelle and Venmo for no added fee; while PayPal and credit card are accepted with a small processing fee.
