About Julie

Hi, I’m Julie. I’ve been drawing since I could pick up a pencil. I specialize in bold, colorful tattoos with smooth blends and glittery details, and I especially love creating nostalgic designs inspired by Y2K, ’90s, and early 2000s pop culture. I was born and raised in Minnesota and was homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. That gave me something I didn’t realize was rare at the time: countless hours to create. I spent my childhood drawing, taking art classes, doing gymnastics and diving, painting, and even turning my first car into a full-on hippie mobile. Making things has always been how I express myself. By the time I was 16, I was taking portrait commissions and showing my work anywhere I could. I participated in local art shows, Art-A-Whirl, art car parades, won several art awards, and was featured in local magazines. I never planned on becoming a tattoo artist—it found me. A local tattoo artist shared my artwork with a shop owner, who reached out to ask if I’d ever considered tattooing. I took the opportunity, and I’ve been tattooing ever since. Over the years I’ve developed a style that’s unapologetically bright, playful, and nostalgic. I love creating tattoos that feel like stickers from a Trapper Keeper, toys from childhood, cartoons, glitter, Lisa Frank, and everything that made growing up in the ’90s and 2000s feel magical. My goal is to make tattoos that not only stand out but instantly transport people back to a favorite memory. Outside of tattooing, I’m an elder emo who loves quiet, creative hobbies. You’ll usually find me reading, working on puzzles, making Perler bead art, playing piano, crafting something new, or hanging out with my husband and our cats. Creativity has always been the center of my life, and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to turn it into something permanent and meaningful for other people every day.

Policies

Deposit Policy
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person or design. Deposits secure your appointment and will be applied to your final session. Failure to appear, or rescheduling without at least 48 hours’ notice results in forfeiture of the deposit.
Cover-Up Policy
Not accepting cover-ups.
Rescheduling Policy
Your deposit only rolls over one time with at least 48hr notice. You must email your artist and give 48 hours notice of rescheduling or cancelling your appointment. Any notice less than 48 hours results in the full forfeiture of your deposit. A notice of 48 hours or more will not return your deposit.
Touch-Up Policy
I offer one free touch-up within a year on my work. Please note that this does not apply to damage caused by improper aftercare (such as picking, soaking, or not following the aftercare instructions).
Late Policy
A grace period of 10-15 minutes max is given but you must contact us if you are running late. If you do not contact us or are more than 15 mins late, then the amount of time you are late is added on to your tattoo time. With consultations we typically only have a half hour time slot before we start another appointment so every minute counts.
Drawing Check In
For my process, I review drawings with clients in person on the day of the tattoo. I don’t send artwork over email. I only schedule advance drawing check-ins for larger pieces where I need to map things directly on the body. Since you chose me for my style and creative approach, the design will follow the same direction as the flash you’ve seen.
Appointment Preparation
Some custom tattoos require reference photos, tattoo placement photos, measurements, or other information before I can begin designing. If I request these materials, they must be submitted by the deadline provided. Failure to provide the requested materials by the deadline may result in cancellation of your appointment. If I am unable to prepare your design because the requested materials were not provided on time, your appointment and deposit may be forfeited.

FAQ

Which parts of the body do you tattoo?
Arms and legs. As well as neck and shoulder blades and some chest pieces. I do not tattoo torso/butt areas due to back injury
Do you send out artwork before the tattoo?
No, I don’t send tattoo designs over email ahead of time. I review artwork with clients in person on the day of the appointment so we can make adjustments together as needed. I only schedule advance drawing check-ins for larger pieces where I need to map things directly on the body.
How do you handle consults?
I mainly handle all consults over email so everything stays organized and easy to refer back to.
Do you take card or cash?
Both!
How much should I tip?
Tipping isn’t required, but if you love your tattoo and want to show appreciation, most clients tip around 20%. Whatever you can do is appreciated — seriously
How should I prepare for my upcoming tattoo session?
• Start exfoliating your skin in the shower about a week prior leading up to the tattoo and moisturize daily • Don’t shave the area (I’ll take care of that) • No self-tanner or glitter on the area • Wear comfortable clothing. Not your Sunday best • Come prepared (headphones, book, game, water, etc.) • Get a good night’s sleep before your appointment • Avoid caffeine the day of your session • Do not come hungover or under the influence
How do I book a Flash/Wannado?
To book one of my pre-drawn designs (also known as flash or wannado), please submit your request by picking the design from my “Wannado” section (not the Custom tattoo form). Once your deposit is received, I’ll personally reach out to schedule your appointment.
