Tattoo Artist at Northbound Ink — Park Rapids, Minnesota I’m Billy Barton, a professional tattoo artist at Northbound Ink in Park Rapids, Minnesota, and the artist behind Tattoos By Billy. For me, tattooing is about more than putting ink on skin. Every client brings a story, memory, idea, or vision, and my job is to turn it into artwork they’ll be proud to wear. Versatility is one of my strengths. I work in bold color, black & grey, fine line, traditional, illustrative, lettering, memorial, floral, cover-ups, reworks, and larger custom pieces. I enjoy the challenge of taking an idea and designing it to work not only as artwork, but with the natural shape and movement of the body. Cover-ups and reworks are some of my favorite projects. There’s something rewarding about transforming an old or unwanted tattoo into something a client is excited to show off again. I’m always learning, experimenting, and pushing myself creatively. Tattooing is one of those crafts you never truly finish mastering—and every piece teaches you something new. Outside the shop, I’m a husband, father of five boys, coach, and friend. Life experience has taught me that everyone who walks through the door has a story, and I want my clients to feel comfortable, respected, and heard. I’m not here to give you the same tattoo everyone else has. Bring me your story, your memories, your crazy idea—or the one you’re not even sure can be done.
