About Tarun Kumar (TK)
I went to Thailand for a vacation and came home with a whole new direction in life. Hey, I’m TK, tattoo artist and owner of MOCO Ink in Silver Spring, Maryland—where your ideas meet skin. My journey started while getting a small tattoo on my back in Thailand. The artist noticed my drawing skills and encouraged me to learn the craft. That conversation led me to train under him and later earn my certification at Thailand Tattoo School in Hua Hin. I’ve been tattooing since 2006, all because someone saw something in me and encouraged me to give it a chance. Geometric, ornamental, mandala, dotwork, and black & grey tattoos are close to my heart. My geometric work earned first place at the Baltimore Tattoo Convention—a proud moment in a journey that began with that one small tattoo. But what keeps me connected to this work is you. The conversations, the stories you share, and the trust you place in me to put something permanent on your skin. I don’t take that lightly. Before we talk ink, I want to know who I’m creating it for. You don’t need a perfectly planned design or a meaningful story behind it. Bring your ideas, your questions, and yourself. Whether you want something small or a larger custom piece, I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and welcome here. My hope is that you leave with a tattoo you love—and an artist you feel you can always come back to.
