Welcome to Venom & Bloom Venom & Bloom is a private, woman-owned tattoo studio in Asheville, NC, created for people who want more than just a tattoo - they want to feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely excited about the experience. Founded by award-winning tattoo artist Shana Irish, Venom & Bloom was built around a simple idea: tattooing can feel personal, collaborative, creative, and safe without losing the artistry and edge that make tattoo culture what it is. Shana brings decades of experience in the beauty, permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing industries, more than 36 advanced certifications, and years of tattooing experience to the studio. Her work specializes in fine line tattooing, black and grey realism, microrealism, botanical designs, feminine illustrative work, and surreal pieces that blend beauty with the unexpected. But Venom & Bloom is bigger than one artist. As the studio grows, we’re intentionally building a collective of talented artists with their own specialties, perspectives, and creative voices - giving clients the opportunity to find an artist who truly fits both their vision and their vibe. Our studio is appointment-based, allowing us to create a more relaxed and personal experience than the traditional walk-in tattoo shop. Whether you’re getting your very first tiny tattoo, adding another piece to an ongoing collection, covering something you’ve outgrown, or finally committing to the large-scale piece you’ve been dreaming about, you belong here. Policies

Deposit Policy: A deposit is required to reserve all tattoo appointments at Venom & Bloom. Your deposit secures your artist’s time and allows them to begin preparing and designing for your appointment. Because that time is reserved specifically for you, all deposits are non-refundable.
Venom & Bloom Studio Policies: We want every appointment at Venom & Bloom to feel comfortable, collaborative, and stress-free. Please review the following policies before booking. By scheduling an appointment, you agree to the policies below.
Age Requirements: You must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo at Venom & Bloom. A valid, government-issued photo ID is required at your appointment. We do not tattoo minors, even with parental consent.
Appointments: Venom & Bloom is an appointment-based private studio. Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be shortened, rescheduled, or canceled depending on the artist’s schedule.
Rescheduling & Cancellations: We understand that life happens! If you need to reschedule, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice. Appointments rescheduled with adequate notice may have their deposit transferred to a new appointment date, subject to our Deposit Policy. Cancellations, rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice, orno shows for an appointment will result in forfeiture of the deposit and a new deposit will be required to book again.
Repeated Cancellations or Rescheduling: Repeated cancellations or rescheduling may require payment in full before another appointment can be scheduled.
Design Changes: Your appointment is reserved based on the design, size, placement, and estimated time discussed during booking. Small adjustments can typically be made at your appointment. Significant changes to the concept, placement, size, or style may require additional design time, a price adjustment, or rescheduling. Please communicate major changes as early as possible so your artist has adequate time to prepare.
Pricing: Tattoo pricing is based on factors including size, placement, complexity, detail, and estimated tattooing time. Any quote given before the appointment is an estimate unless specifically stated otherwise. Changes to the design, size, placement, or scope of the tattoo may affect the final price.
Guests: Because Venom & Bloom is a private working studio, we ask that you limit guests unless previously discussed with your artist. Guests must be respectful of artists, clients, and the studio environment. Children are not permitted in the studio during tattoo appointments.
Preparing for Your Appointment: Please arrive well-rested, hydrated, and having eaten beforehand. Avoid alcohol before your appointment and wear clothing that allows comfortable access to the area being tattooed. Your artist reserves the right to postpone or refuse tattooing when it would be unsafe or inappropriate to proceed.
Artwork: Custom artwork created for your appointment remains the intellectual property of the artist. Designs may not be copied, reproduced, tattooed by another artist, or used commercially without permission.
Photos & Social Media: We regularly photograph and/or video completed work for portfolios, social media, and studio marketing. If you prefer not to have your tattoo photographed or shared, please let your artist know.
Touch-Ups: Normal healing varies from person to person. If your tattoo requires a touch-up after it has fully healed, please contact your artist. Complimentary touch-ups, when offered by your artist, do not apply to fading or damage caused by improper aftercare, excessive sun exposure, picking, scratching, or other circumstances outside the artist’s control. Certain placements that are naturally prone to fading may also be excluded.
Respect & Safety: Venom & Bloom is committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for our clients and artists. Harassment, discrimination, aggressive behavior, inappropriate conduct, or disrespect toward our artists, clients, or studio will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service when necessary.
Agreement: By booking an appointment with Venom & Bloom, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to the studio’s policies.
Applying Your Deposit: Your deposit will be applied toward the final cost of your tattoo and deducted from the balance due at your appointment. For tattoos requiring multiple sessions, the deposit will typically be held until the final session unless otherwise arranged with your artist.
Rescheduling: We understand that sometimes plans change. Deposits may be transferred one time to a new appointment date when at least 48 hours’ notice is provided. Additional rescheduling may require a new deposit at the artist’s discretion.
Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Your deposit will be forfeited if: • You cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice. • You do not show up for your appointment. • You arrive too late for the artist to reasonably complete the scheduled appointment. • You repeatedly reschedule your appointment. • You make substantial changes to the agreed-upon tattoo concept without enough notice for the artist to prepare. • You arrive unable to safely receive the tattoo.
Canceling Your Tattoo: If you decide not to move forward with your tattoo for any reason, your deposit will not be refunded. Deposits compensate your artist for reserving appointment time, administrative preparation, communication, and design work completed in anticipation of your appointment.
Artist or Studio Cancellation: If Venom & Bloom or your artist needs to reschedule your appointment, your deposit will automatically transfer to the new date. If your artist is unable to complete the appointment and an appropriate rescheduled date cannot be arranged, your deposit will be refunded.
Deposits Are Not Transferable: Deposits are attached to the client, artist, and tattoo project for which they were originally paid and cannot be transferred to another person or used toward a different artist or project without prior approval.

How do I book a tattoo?: Submit our Tattoo Request Form with your design idea, placement, approximate size, reference images, preferred artist, and availability. Once reviewed, we’ll contact you with next steps, pricing information, and availability.
Do you require a deposit?: Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. Your appointment is not confirmed until your deposit has been received. The deposit is applied toward the final cost of your tattoo. Please review our full Deposit Policy before booking.
How much will my tattoo cost?: Pricing depends on the size, placement, detail, complexity, and artist. Once we review your tattoo request, we can provide an estimated price or range. Changes to the design, size, or placement may affect the final cost.
Do you have a shop minimum?: Yes. Our minimum varies by artist and the type of tattoo being requested. Even very small tattoos require setup, sterile supplies, preparation, and appointment time. Your artist will confirm pricing before your appointment is booked.
Do you accept walk-ins?: Venom & Bloom is primarily an appointment-based studio. Occasionally, an artist may have same-day or last-minute availability. Follow us on social media for openings, flash drops, and last-minute appointments.
Can I bring my own tattoo idea?: Absolutely! We love creating custom tattoos. Send us your concept, inspiration, and reference images through our Tattoo Request Form. References are used for inspiration - we will not directly copy another tattoo artist’s original work.
Can you recreate a tattoo I found online?: We can use existing tattoos as inspiration, but we will not directly copy another artist’s custom work. We’ll create something unique for you while keeping the elements, feeling, or style you love about your references.
When will I see my custom tattoo design?: Custom designs are typically shown at your appointment. This allows your artist to design specifically for you without multiple rounds of pre-appointment revisions. Small adjustments can be made together before tattooing begins.
Can I make changes to my design?: Yes! Small adjustments can usually be made at your appointment. If you want to significantly change the concept, style, size, or placement, please contact us beforehand. Major changes may require additional design time or rescheduling.
How do I choose the right artist?: Take a look through each artist’s portfolio and choose the artist whose work best matches the style you want. If you’re unsure, submit your request without a preference and we can help match you with the best fit.
Can I book a flash or wanna-do design?: Yes! Available flash and wanna-do designs can be claimed by contacting us or submitting a tattoo request. Unless otherwise stated, designs are available on a first-come basis. Once an exclusive design is claimed, it’s gone!
Do you tattoo minors with parental consent?: No. You must be 18 or older to receive a tattoo at Venom & Bloom, regardless of parental consent. A valid government-issued photo ID is required at your appointment.
Can I bring someone to my appointment?: We ask that guests be limited due to the size and privacy of our studio. If you’d like to bring someone, please check with your artist beforehand. Children are not permitted during tattoo appointments.
What should I do before my tattoo appointment?: Get a good night’s sleep, eat a solid meal, hydrate well, and wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the tattoo area. Avoid alcohol before your appointment. Bring your valid photo ID and anything your artist specifically requested.
What should I wear to my appointment?: Wear comfortable clothing that gives your artist easy access to the tattoo area. Dark or older clothing is recommended since tattoo ink may stain. For more private placements, your artist can help you plan clothing options that keep you comfortable and covered.
Can I use numbing cream before my tattoo?: Please do not apply numbing cream unless you’ve discussed it with your artist first. Some products can affect the skin and tattooing process. If you’re concerned about pain, talk with your artist before your appointment so we can discuss your options.
How long will my tattoo appointment take?: It depends on the size, placement, detail, and complexity of your tattoo. Small tattoos may take less than an hour to tattoo, while larger pieces can require several hours or multiple sessions. Your artist will give you an estimated timeframe.
What if I’m running late?: Please contact your artist as soon as possible. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may require us to shorten, reschedule, or cancel your appointment depending on the artist’s schedule. A forfeited deposit may require a new deposit to rebook.

What if I’m sick on the day of my appointment?: Please contact us as soon as possible. Tattooing while you’re sick isn’t ideal for you, your healing, or everyone in the studio. We’ll determine the best next step based on the circumstances and our rescheduling policy.
How do I take care of my new tattoo?: Your artist will provide aftercare instructions specific to your tattoo. Follow them carefully, keep the area clean, avoid picking or scratching, and protect your tattoo while it heals. Proper aftercare plays a major role in your final healed result.
How long does a tattoo take to heal?: The surface of a tattoo typically settles within a few weeks, but deeper healing continues beyond that. Healing varies based on your body, placement, tattoo style, and aftercare. Follow your artist’s instructions throughout the entire healing process.
Do you offer tattoo touch-ups?: If your tattoo needs a touch-up after it has fully healed, contact your artist. Touch-up policies vary by artist and situation. Damage or fading caused by improper aftercare, sun exposure, picking, or naturally difficult placements may not qualify for a complimentary touch-up.
Can you tattoo over scars?: Often, yes, but it depends on the scar and how it has healed. Scar tissue behaves differently from unaffected skin. Submit clear photos with your request so your artist can evaluate the area and determine whether tattooing it is appropriate. We may recommend treatments to soften the scar before tattooing is possible.
Do you do cover-ups or reworks?: Depending on the existing tattoo and the artist, yes. Please include clear, well-lit photos of your current tattoo with your request. Cover-ups usually need to be larger and/or darker than the existing tattoo, and not every concept will work as a cover-up.
