About Fiori
I’m Fiori, a Brazilian artist currently based in New York.Since I was a kid, I loved drawing up and creating art. Having the privilege of my mother being a tattoo artist since I was only 9 years old, I got in touch with the techniques and knowledge of tattooing very early. Due to my mother’s passion for traveling and my dad working as a circus artist,I was always on the move in Brasil. In the year of 2002, I started tattooing. Drawing, music and traveling were more than just hobbies to me, it was my life, so I arrived at a decision to start to travel on my own. The destination of my first trip, by the age of 19, was the beautiful city of London. Working there as a tattoo artist apprentice for a nice tattoo shop was my first experience abroad. After this crazy year, I decided to go to Italy in order to know other tattoo scenes and of course to see life in another amazing country. I was traveling and working in Italy for 3 years, in between I went back to Brasil several times. After 9 years in Spain, 5 years running my business and having one of the best times of my life, full of different experiences with ups and downs, I felt like I wanted a bit more of freedom again. It’s in my blood, so I decided to hit the road again and keep doing what I was doing before, but this time more focused in a style which I came to find out to love the NEO TRADITIONAL. I was also working in Germany for the past few years, and just exploring a bit different cultures all around. I’ve decide to finally make base in New York, and can’t wait to start new projects with a whole new approach.

- What to do previously my tattoo sessions?
- Getting such pieces is more then getting a design, its an experience so it can be quite challenging for the body and for the mind, its very important to come prepared mentally and physically. Comes well rested, and make sure you eat before the session. Do not drink alcohol the night before getting tattooed, it’s very important to keep your body hydrated, so bring your water and some food ( snacks) to your tattoo session. Its also important that you bring comfortable clothes if its a dark, its always better so you don't get any stains on it, a blanket for colder days, thick socks for your feet.
- How long can the sessions take?
- Normally my sessions can take between five to six hours,and sometimes i might take longer just to get the stencil on and lay the drawing to your skin, so you just have to trust the process. These specific designs have to be adapted to your different bodies and shapes, which happens very organically when you have your appointment, so I can free hand some pieces of the design to adapt it better for each anatomy.
- Will anaesthesia be used?
- I don't recommend anaesthesia to my clients, I think tattoos can be quite challenging depending on the areas of The body is going to be tattooed, but as i said before, the most important thing is to come relaxed and well rested to your session.
- How much will I spend?
- The prices for tattoos are variable, depending on the size, area of the body, details of the drawing and size of the costumer. I normally charge $1800 per day session, where i tattoo for six hours, and start and finish the piece, that normally has a A4 paper sheet size. There are also smaller drawings that could be charged by piece, from $800 to $1500. Body suits, back pieces, or leg sleeves, normally can go from 10 sessions or more, depending on the design details and the model, so its very important to take a minimum of five sessions per year. The sessions cost 1800 dollars. Im looking forward to start collaborating together on your project! If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate asking.
- Deposit and Cancellation
- A deposit will be taken to prepare your drawing and to save a date on my calendar for you. The deposits go from $300 to $500. The deposits will be rested on the amount of the costumers last session. If the costumer changes his mind and doesn’t want to get tattooed anymore, this person will not be refunded the deposit. If you need to reschedule your session, please contact me 3 weeks in advance to accommodate your request.
- How to look after my tattoo?
- Leave the bandage (TATTOO ARMOUR) for the first night on. Take it off in the morning and wash your tattoo with soap and water, dry it with a kitchen towel. You can have your tattoo cleaned two times a day. If you’re leaving the house, cover it with a plastic film (only the first or second day). Do not cream your tattoo until the third day. When you finally cream it, make sure to use a very thin layer of cream. On the forth day it should start peeling of, by then you just need to keep it hydrated and by the end of the week will be healed. The healing can take a while, since the first week is only going to cure the outside layer of skin, so keep using moisturising cream to keep your skin recovering. Do not take any sun at least for the minimum of a month, and if you do, pls use sun block.
- Can I do sports, recently tattooed?
- You can always do sports as long as you give your body a week rest after your Tattoo session.
- Do I need to retouch my tattoo?
- You can always get back to me when you have your tattoo healed and we can look at it together. Normally retouches are not needed, but I always appreciate to see my tattoos healed, and to retouch it if it’s necessary.
