About Virginia
PSA Before you read: I’m now taking appointments in NY and LA 🫶 Hey all! I'm Virginia Elwood, an openly queer tattoo artist with over two decades of experience. A New York State native, I favor custom work and love the collaborative effort and trust that goes into it. Known for my take on traditional Americana and folk art techniques, I create bold, colorful tattoos, including my signature freak flowers that I call "Make Real Flowers Jealous," and traditional Americana-style portraiture. My inspirations are everywhere, often found in my clients, folk art, textiles, obscure media, music, and art in general. My overall vibe is open, warm, inviting, funny, calm, methodical, and intuitive. Potential clients should feel like I'm someone they can trust to do what’s best for their projects, knowing I'll listen, collaborate, and be open. Above all, I love tattooing and the unique stories each tattoo tells. Creation casts a long and lasting shadow. Made from pigment, discovery and collaboration. Each tattoo is a collaborative journey, translating personal stories and unique visions into vibrant, enduring works of art. I hope to meet you soon!

Policies
- Deposit Policy
- Deposits are like a friendly handshake between us. A mutual commitment to make our experience together, and your tattoo, even better than either of us could imagine. •Deposits are applied to the final cost of your tattoo. • If You Need to Reschedule - Your deposit will be honored if I receive at least one week's notice that you need to reschedule your appointment. Emergencies and illness are, of course, exempt from this policy. - However, if you cancel your appointment without proper notice twice, you’ll be asked to leave a new deposit before rebooking. • If You Need to Cancel and Don’t Reschedule - Your deposit is non-refundable. As much as I’d love to be flexible, I’m just a human trying to make a living as an artist. • The deposit helps ensure that my time and efforts are compensated, as consultations, correspondence, planning, and drawing your tattoo—services I don’t charge for—take up a significant amount of time. Thank you for your understanding and support! *Please reach out to me if you have any questions :)
