A San Diego based tattoo artist specializing in large scale geometric and ornamental tattoos. With 16 years of professional tattooing under his belt, Oliver has specialized in this style for over 10 years. He draws his inspiration from textiles and patterns he finds in nature and architecture alike. Bringing raw natural patterns and combining them with swooping architectural lines with precision to create a unique style and balance. He specializes in dot work, blackwork, shading, and blast-overs, and works closely with clients to create designs that accentuate the natural flow and lines of their bodies. Oliver grew up in Durban South Africa, a beautiful tropical land scape, located on the warm Indian Ocean. South Africa was and still is a huge inspiration for Olivers work. Growing up in such a diverse and inspiring environment to draw from int the years to come. At the age of 15 Oliver did his first tattoo and he knew that was what he was meant to do! He moved from South Africa to Joshua Tree California, where he apprenticed under Cameron Fuhrer. Four years into his career, Oliver then moved to San Francisco CA, seeking fellow geometric and black workers this is when he truly started to hone his style. Working and owning his shops Temperance tattoo and Sangoma Tattoo over the next 8 years he would would be working closely with dot work and black work artist from around the globe, doing collaborations and learning just how connected people really are by this unique style. Oliver now tattoos at Guru Tattoo little Italy, seeking the next stage of inspiration and artist connection.
